Houston Texans: The evolution of the defense

We just can’t help thinking about the Texans about when they’ll start to play a brand of defense that is strong enough to compete in the AFC South.

The Texans have already done good on their offense, no doubt that they have enough playmakers at the skill positions to put points on the board. However, without a defense, the Texans will never become a good team we expect they to be. It would be worse if their players choose to wear eagles jerseys.

It’s natural for defenses to be ahead of offenses in terms of development in August and the first couple of weeks of the regular season. But in Houston, this defense has been known to start slowly and take time to develop throughout the regular season. Then the Texans usually find themselves fighting uphill to get back in the division race. But it seems not easy for them to start fast. Hope is there since they do have some big-name players such as Mario Williams, Amobi Okoye, Dunta Robinson and DeMeco Ryan. They will step up and help this defense become a playmaking defense.
