After Sunday’s 14-6 loss to the previously winless Kansas City Chiefs, the front office of the Washington Redskins finally made their decision to take off play-calling duties from head coach Jim Zorn.
According to Redskins spokesman Zack Bolno, front office chief Vinny Cerrato and Zorn discussed the change during a 1-on-1 meeting after Sunday’s loss and Cerrato told Zorn he believes the coach had too many responsibilities and someone else should run the offense during games. A new play caller would be announced on Monday.
The Redskins (2-4) are averaging 13.2 points this season and Zorn seemed to be irritated in his postgame news conference. He refused to answer questions on whether he is concerned about his future.
