As the San Diego Chargers finally officially announced they have released running back LaDainian Tomlinson after a low 2009 season, some begin to worry similar thing may happen to the New York Jets running back Thomas Jones.
Different from Tomlinson who finished the 2009 season with career low 730 yards on 223 carries for an average of 3.3 yards per attempt; Jones is still playing at a very high level, rushing for 1,402 yards last season. The uncertainties on his relationship with Jets are on other things.
Turning 32 year old, Jones is due a $3 million roster bonus and a $2.8 million base salary for 2010 season. It is just unlikely for any team to pay so much money for 32-year-old running back. Plus the Jets have young choices like Shonn Greene. They even do not need Jones as a backup if Leon Washington wears back his Jets jersey after full recovery from his leg surgery.

Chargers RB Tomlinson not to play against Dolphins on Sunday
After missing last Sunday’s home-opening loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson is ruled out for a second straight game at home because of an injury he got in season-opening win against the Oakland Raiders.
“It’s hard because you’d like to have all your guys,” Coach Norv Turner said Friday. “It’s crazy, because on Sept. 1, when people were asking me what I thought about camp, I said it was great that we were healthy and had all our guys, because that’s something we haven’t had in a while.”
The Chargers will play against the Miami Dolphins this Sunday, and Darren Sproles will start instead of L. T. Sproles, who also returns kickoffs and punts, has 524 all-purpose yards in two games.
According to Turner, L.T. is getting better and will likely return to field next week or no later than the end of Chargers’ by week after playing against the Pittsburgh on Oct. 4.

Warning: Chargers RB Tomlinson reached age of 30
As it is coming near to the 30th birthday of Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson, team owners need to be warned that this guy will no loger in elite status again.
Tomlinson used to be one of the best running backs, but his aging began to prevent him from performing best last season. He did play all the 16 games last season, but some toe problems just bothered him so much that he made a career-worst record of 1,110 rushing yards, and only 12 total touchdowns.
Although it has been reported that Tomlinson is back to 100 percent, the fact that he reaches the age of 30 will just prevent him from becoming elite player in 2009. Aging is inevitable, and more injuries and health problems will come. You may believe that he will be able to do well, but not the best. More younger and faster will take over his position in the list.
