With still one season left on the Philadelphia Eagles’ contract with their NO.1 quarterback Donovan McNabb, there have already been rumors saying that McNabb will take off his Eagles jersey during or after next year. Someone even believes that the Eagles may trade McNabb this offseason.
Why do they think so? Reason No. 1: His contract is going to expire at the end of 2010 season and by so far the Eagles have not shown any intension to offer extension or any job to keep McNabb in Philadelphia. Reason No. 2: After watching the quarterback closely for 11 seasons, Eagles fans are not expecting anything new from McNabb.
However, more people believe that McNabb will stay on Eagles’ roster at least for the Next season. What is most likely to happen is that McNabb will retire at the age of 35 as the contract expires. Kevin Kolb or Michael Vick will fill in to be the new starter. Thinking about McNabb’s role in pushing the Eagles to sign controversial Vick, I am surer that McNabb is making his final efforts to help his team, which he never left since joining in 1999 as the second pick of first round.
